SAIC Corporation/Entergy Corporation – New Orleans, LA
2000-2003

SAIC is a $7.5B provider of consulting solutions, systems integration, and outsourcing services. Entergy is a $30 billion energy company serving Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana which has outsourced their IT infrastructure services to SAIC -- a $1B 10-year project.

Position: Chief Technology Officer/Vice President

Reported directly to Entergy’s CIO and SAIC’s IT outsourcing project executive. Responsibilities included assessing Entergy’s IT needs and determining direction and standards; also functioned as Chief Architect in developing outsourcing solutions for over $4B worth of SAIC outsourcing RFP’s and proposals.

  • Reviewed and evaluated IT capital projects for the following five years to determine “value and cost rationalization” as a part of a successful effort to reduce Entergy’s IT budget from $250M/year to $80M/year.
  • Defined standards, protocols, and architectural directions; efforts resulted in streamlining Entergy’s IT planning and projects implementation, hence reducing IT cost and improving services.
  • Prototyped and introduced new technologies which resulted increasing employee productivity.
  • Executive sponsor of “web-enablement” programs, such as Active Directory and LDAP. These projects created the platform for Entergy to migrate from legacy to web-based applications hence reducing operating expenditure and increasing security.
SAIC Corporation - San Diego, CA
1996-2000

Position: Director – Systems and Network Management/ Vice President

As Chief Engineer and Chief Architect for the Systems and Network Management division of SAIC responsibilities included developing and implementing outsourcing technical solutions, and managing and mentoring implementation teams.

  • Envisioned and architected the first Integrated Services Management Center (ISMC). ISMC became a SAIC product/service offering, yielding a $400m/year practice as the heart of SAIC’s outsourcing services.
  • As Chief Engineer managed and developed the first ISMC’s Detailed Design Document for Edison International -- a $1.5M effort, delivered on time and under budget.
  • As Chief Engineer and Architect managed a team of 30+ engineers in the implementation of the first ISMC for Edison International. This was a $17M two-year fixed-priced contract delivered under budget and ahead of schedule.
  • Designed and architected ISMC’s for Dept. of Energy in Oak Ridge resulting in a $10M/year contract.
  • Designed, architected, and implemented ISMC’s for Entergy International as a part of the $1B outsourcing contract.
IBM Corporation/Tivoli Systems - Austin, TX
1994-1996

Position: Sr. Consultant

  • Member of Tivoli Professional Services (TPS) team, responsibility included solution design and implementation of Tivoli Suite of Products.
  • Analyzed, designed, planned, and implemented Tivoli suite of software for projects ranging from $200,000 to $4M.
  • Designed and concurrently managed several remote projects, which resulted in over 15% increase in the Tivoli Professional Services productivity.
  • Co-developed the Tivoli Implementation Methodology hence decreasing implementation time in some cases by 50%.
